We had the Rutland Osprey team in to visit us in assembly last week during Osprey week. They gave us lots of information about the Ospreys who are returning to Rutland for the Spring and Summer and the journey they have to make to and from Africa to find warmer climates during the year. We have 5 Osprey ambassadors in school who will be invited to events with other Osprey ambassadors in schools in Rutland finding out lots of information to bring back into schools.
Last Saturday, eight members of the Bridge Club travelled to Loughborough Grammar School to take part in the National SchoolsMini Bridge Competition. There were 40 children involved in the competition from a range of schools all over the country. The children were all absolutely superb and worked incredibly hard to concentrate and focus. All of our pairings did really well, however Harvey and Ruby went on to win the competition and be crowned National Schools Mini Bridge Champions – a huge achievement. Well done to the boccia team who represented Rutland at the School Games at Loughborough University on Friday. The children were amazing and played with skill and determination in an incredibly tough competition. They ended up 6th overall. They also had the chance to meet Team GB Paralympians Holly Arnold and Hannah Cockcroft - they were an incredible inspiration and the children also got to wear their gold medals!
